Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961 at Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was the first to achieve a perfect 10 in an Olympic celebration. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics trainer who would become Comaneci's coach in later years, discovered her at age six. The first time she competed at the national junior championships in 1969, finishing 13th. She took the title in 1970. The first time she competed in an international meet, which was an preolympics junior event for nations in the Communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975 she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. In 1975, she took home four golds and one silver medal in her debut senior competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman to perform a reverse double salto, which is an unmounting from uneven parallel bars. Carol Wayne's journey into the realm of entertainment began when she was a teenager. Together with her twin sister Nina Wayne, she joined traveling entertainment shows known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol ventured into the entertainment business as a teenager. She started her career performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
