Jenna Fischer has become best well-known as Pam Beesly, the character she portrayed on The Office. For her part, Jenna was honored with two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy as well as an Emmy Award for the Best Supporting Actress.
Her mother, Anne was a performer in church theater while she was a kid, which instilled a love of performance and theater in Jenna. Jenna's mother Anne often performed in church dramas in her younger years which sparked an enthusiasm for theatre.
She's an actress trained who returned to theater after The Office. The role she played was Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway drama Reasons to Be Happy. In the following play, she was a part of Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist production starring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's first world premiere.
In October 2019, Fischer and The Office cast-mate and real-life best friend Angela Kinsey started an online podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. The podcast has since gained immense popularity, settling in the Top Ten globally every week and receiving over 200 million downloads in the first two years. In January 2021, Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She is the writer of The Actor's Life An Actor's Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey), in which her journey between St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming an actor is outlined.
